E Learning

E-learning is the term that is mostly used to describe the various aspects of online learning, technology-delivered instruction and web-based training. Its major features are:

   1.    Internet learning which is mainly real-time, 24 hours and 7 days a week, anywhere and anytime.

   2.     It is mainly centered across the learner, personalized to the individual & customized to any company, firm or organization.

   3.     It is network-assisted and often you learn in the matter of fly or assembling learning experiences on the fly.

   4.     It is perfect blend of learning method such as-- virtual classroom, collaboration, simulation, community and even a classroom.

   5.     the whole learning process is through assessment, testing and sometimes even the certification

   6.    It is completely administered online which includes -- handling registration, payment and charge-backs and monitoring learners' progress etc.

So What does the word ELearning actually means. The definition of E Learning is given by few experts as:--

These all are various definitions based on its uses and applications. But we must remember that there is a difference between E Learning and Web Learning.
E learning includes and covers a wide set of applications and processes which includes computer-based learning, virtual classrooms, Web-based learning and digital application. The process uses several other mediums for the purpose of educating and training. These methodologies include the Internet, intranets, extranets, audio/video tape, interactive TV satellite broadcast and CD-ROM. On the other hand Web Based learning constitutes just one part of technology-based learning and imparts the learning through Internet, intranet and extranet.
